DECEMBER We had our first snowstorm in Delaware. I had high hopes that there wouldn't be any snow since they didn't have any here last year. The boys were very excited for it to snow and even tried lots of funny tricks to get it to snow including throwing an ice cube outside, putting their pj's on inside out, and sleeping with a spoon under their pillow. Tyson's first grade teacher last year told all the class to try it and Tyson still remembered it this year. It didn't work that night-- but we did have snow for a couple days. Tyson was disappointed because they didn't cancel school for the storm. He was pretty spoiled in Maryland. McKay couldn't get his snowsuit on fast enough. He was so excited to get outside with his brothers. But then he took a dive in the snow and had enough. McKay has become very self-sufficient. He pulls a stool around anywhere he wants to go and uses it to get what he needs. One day he got a banana, peeled it, and threw away the peel. I saw him with the banana and was shocked. I went looking for where he left the peel and he took me to the garbage to show me that it was already there. In this picture he started peeling a clementine on his own and peeled the whole thing. He threw the peels all away and then sat down and ate the clementine.

Cutler and Tyson were part of the program at the Christmas party at church and they got to see Santa. They enjoyed the night. Tyson told Santa he wanted tools and Cutler told him that he wanted Goldfish Crackers. That is all he ever asked for the entire month. This was the beginning of Matt's Christmas vacation. He came home after a 24 hour shift and wanted to stay awake since it was the start of 3 days off. The result was a zonked out dad that could have slept through a tornado. (He did if you consider kids jumping all over him a tornado!) He actually stayed awake for most of the morning helping with the kids because I was sick.

We "Two" Kings of Orient Are On Christmas day Tyson didn't wake up until 7 and then McKay woke up. We waited for a while for Cutler and then suddenly he came in with a big smile on his face and said, "You have got to see what is downstairs . . . it is so cool." We had forgotten to tell him that he needed to wait for everyone to go down together. They enjoyed all their presents-but the favorite was some cardboard blocks.
